Frenchies Marks Seven Years with Limited Release ‘Devil’ Beer, Meet the Brewers Tasting Evening

The brewery has gone from strength to strength following the launch of its second site in 2023, and has added a new brewer to the team

Frenchies Bistro & Brewery is celebrating its milestone seven years in business with the launch of a limited release beer, and will be providing complimentary tastings of the creation – along with several additional brews – on Thursday, 29th August.

Belgian Golden Ale in style, the Devil is an 8.5% Blonde Ale the team has brewed with Pilsner malts, Bohemian hops and a rare yeast strain. The result is a unique beer that displays a lively aroma and palate of fresh hops and hints of spices, along with a rounded mouthfeel that presents a lingering and refreshing dry finish.

Commenting on the idea behind the beer, Brewery Director, Vincent De Soyres says: “We wanted to develop something that reflected our European roots, featured a combination of some of our favourite ingredients from the continent, and paid homage to a classic beer style that has influenced Frenchies’ growth and development over the years.

“In 2023 you may remember we opted for a DDH Tripel coined Trippin Balls, which was inspired by the iconic Delirium Tremens. This year’s brew reflects our love of the Duvel, and achieves all three of the characteristics mentioned above!”

Frenchies will be celebrating the launch of the Devil during a special birthday edition of its regular Frenchies Family Tasting Nights, where additional new releases will also be on show, including the:

  • Cool Kids – Troppo Hazy IPA – The latest release in Frenchies award-winning collaboration series with Hopsters Cooperative Brewery, this 5.8% ABV beer shines a light on the HBC 586 hop, and features tropical flavours and aromas of mango, lychee, guava and citrus, along with subtle woody notes.

  • Frenchies Dry – Made to bring beer drinkers a taste of the much-loved Aussie pub, this 4.6% ABV low-carb Aussie style Lager is crisp, smooth, dry and low in bitterness.

  • Frenchies Mid – Equally crisp and refreshing, this 3.5% mid-strength Lager is the perfect everyday beer for all tastes, moods and occasions.

Tickets for the tasting night are complimentary, and can be secured when those interested in attending join the Frenchies Family here.

Despite the trying times being felt across the sector, the brewery has continued to see great success this year, with all tanks across its two sites consistently full with Frenchies own beers, as well as contract beverages spanning beers, seltzers, RTDs and non-alcoholic drinks.

De Soyres adds: “Demand for our products, as well as services continues to be high, and this is a result of the flexible and agile operation we’ve solidified, ongoing commitment to quality, and talented production team.

“In exciting news, this has seen us grow our brew crew, with the recent addition of Liam Judd as Junior Brewer, who joins us from East Coast Canning, and as such, brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the role.”
