Gintonica is bringing gin lovers together with cocktail making masterclasses, kits and more in celebration of World Gin Day

Event will see award-winning Cocktail Bartender, Jess Clayfield of Melbourne’s iconic Gin Palace reveal a new tipple every hour.

Gintonica, Australia’s central resource for all things craft gin, has joined forces with Melbourne-based institution, Gin Palace to curate a special event for World Gin Day on Saturday, 11 June. It will see the gin collective stream a new craft gin-based cocktail masterclass – all of which have been filmed at Gin Palace – via their Facebook page every hour, on the hour between 2pm and 9pm AEST.

Gin Palace’s acclaimed Cocktail Bartender, Jess Clayfield (aka Lady of Botanicals) will talk viewers through the steps involved in making each delicious cocktail, and share various options and tips for how to get the most out of the day, as they play along from the comfort of their homes, while sipping away on their creations until the next masterclass is revealed.

To ensure gin lovers best enjoy this unique experience, Gintonica has developed five limited edition cocktail packs for the occasion, which are all available for immediate purchase online. These include a Gin & Tonic Kit, Neat Gin Sippers Pack, Martini + Negroni + G&T Kit, Martini Kit, and Four of the Best Cocktails Kit. Each includes the key ingredients – as well as a list of the fresh and easy stuff people can pick up from their local supermarket or grocer – that are needed to make Jess’s cocktails in real time. Plus, recipes will be added to the Gintonica website so they can relive the fun, and the cocktails again and again.

In staying true to Gintonica’s vision to celebrate Australian craft gin, each pack features the unique and varied creations of several local Aussie gin makers, including Bass & Flinders, Reed & Co, Anther, Animus, and Heathcote Gin. The event will showcase the spirit in its most traditional forms, as well as explorative variations, such as barrel aged, cherry, and those displaying grape expressions. To complete the picture the event will even include Australian cocktail contributors Marionette liqueurs, Maidenii vermouth and StrangeLove tonics.

Commenting on the activity, David Box, Founder, Gintonica says: “World Gin Day is the perfect way to not only recognise the versatility of gin, but celebrate the wealth of Aussie craft gin makers, and the talented people behind them, that we’re lucky to have right here on our doorstep. There is no better way to do this, than with a dedicated event featuring Gin Palace’s talented Jess Clayfield!

“With the cooler months upon us and two years of limited travel, a lot of Aussie gin lovers haven’t been able to visit their favourite bars, distillery cellar doors or even try new gins. This inspired us to come up with the idea to launch and host a highly interactive, streamed event. It means fans can get their friends over or join in from different parts of the country, get creative at home, learn a bit more about gin through the wonderful Jess, and have an all-round good time as they sip on their creations and build a new cocktail each hour.”

Jess Clayfield, Cocktail Bartender, Gin Palace added: “World Gin Day is an event I always look forward to each year, and what an honour and delight to have the opportunity to join forces with the guys at Gintonica to share our passion for the spirit with gin lovers throughout the country.

“You’ll see me in my element at Gin Palace, as I share tips and tricks for creating the most iconic and delicious gin-based cocktails, be immersed in our unique space, and feel as though you’re sitting right here at the bar with me. It’s one not to be missed!”
