Dual Olympian Brooke Stratton jumps onboard as Simply Wize ambassador

Partnership aims to raise awareness of coeliac disease, a condition one in 70 Aussies suffer from, and where four in five people remain undiagnosed

Leading Australian-owned gluten free brand, Simply Wize, has joined forces with two-time Olympic long jumper and coeliac, Brooke Stratton to raise awareness of the disease among Aussies and increase diagnosis rates, so that they can get the most out of their lives.

Brooke and Simply Wize are perfectly aligned, because as an elite athlete, it’s vital that she consumes the right nutrients to train and compete at her very best. However, Brooke found she was often lacking energy after eating foods that were high in gluten. After experiencing these symptoms for two years, Brooke was eventually diagnosed with coeliac disease in 2013, which is where the immune system reacts abnormally to gluten.

This prompted Brooke to make the switch to a gluten free diet, which is when she first came across Simply Wize. After going gluten free, she immediately noticed improvements in her body, and an enhanced ability to train at the intense levels required of a professional sportsperson.

Commenting on the new ambassadorship role, Brooke said: “I’m incredibly honoured to be joining forces with Simply Wize to get the country talking about coeliac disease, and to advocate for the health benefits of their products. All too often the symptoms associated with this condition go unnoticed, however the positive changes sufferers experience when they go gluten free can be life changing.

“This partnership is extremely special to me, not only because of the impact it can have, I genuinely love the taste and wide variety of Simply Wize’s products, and the fact that they give me the energy I need to perform at my very best. I especially love the gnocchi range, and always keep a stash of gluten free snakes in my bag for a pre-training sugar hit.”

While according to Coeliac Australia one in 70 Australians suffer from coeliac disease, four out of five cases remain undiagnosed. An improper diet can lead to various gastrointestinal and malabsorptive symptoms, however they can be minimised when gluten is eliminated from the diet.

Shimon Weizman, Founder & Director, Simply Wize said: “It’s important for us to align ourselves with people and organisations who share our vision for improving the lives of others, by both raising awareness of coeliac disease and providing solutions to sufferers, so that they can easily manage their condition.

“Brooke is the perfect ambassador for our brand, as not only has she been a Simply Wize customer for many years, Brooke has experienced firsthand how these products have improved her life for the better, and helped her succeed in her training and competition. Welcome to the Simply Wize family Brooke, we’re so glad to have you join us!”

In her role as ambassador Brooke will be making appearances alongside Simply Wize at the Gluten Free Expos throughout 2022, of which Simply Wize is the gold sponsor, and regularly contributing inspiring content to Simply Wize’s social media platforms, as well as her own. This includes the sharing of her personal journey with coeliac disease, and creative recipes showcasing products from the brand’s vast range.
